I Love Cake

Last cake of the year. A love heart shaped beauty for a couple getting engaged.

Matching cupcakes to accompany. This was a lot of fun to make. I baked a tall 7" round cake made a heart template and cut out the cake and here you have it a love heart chocolate cake with a banner across. All edible. Sadly I haven't got a picture of the cupcake tower they were made for, but they looked pretty and pastel.

Fa La La La La La ...

Let me introduce you to the Iacomella Family Christmas Cake. You are so organised I hear you say.

Well, yes seems that I am this year, says me smugly, sitting here tapping away sipping my strawberry tea. Ha Ha .Right at this moment you should be laughing. Laughing long and hard  because sadly I'm never usually so prepared. The reason why is because this was the cake I made to demonstrate to my students how to cover a fruit cake 101. So when classes were over I just decorated it to my taste. No snowmen, penguins, snowflakes etc this year because sadly we are not having a skiing holiday, but a beach holiday. Since magnolia's are my newest favourite flower,I made a big one front and centre for the cake and couldn't resist some holly berries and pine cones to keep it a bit festive. What do you think?

I thought it would make a pretty nice wedding cake if you were having a Christmas wedding. The cakes are 7" base and 5"top tier.

Well I hope you will all enjoy some rich fruit Christmas Cake this year and just to keep things real I actually baked last years cake on Christmas Eve. { Thank you Nigella. Chocolate Fruit Cake } and it was equally yummy.
Have a good week. Thanks for stopping by. xx

Only 24 Days Until Christmas

Eek I can't believe Christmas is almost upon us. Hope all your preparations are going to plan. I have some festive treats to share with you today to perhaps lull you into the festive season. The cake with the candle topper was a little project I taught a group of students. The flowers were two toned blossoms with cotton stamens, pine cones, holly leaves and berries a candle about 12cm tall and lots of little ribbon loops made of shimmery lamenta. Kind of cute and my students did a fantastic job, I was so proud of them.

Some cute Christmas themed cupcakes. If you would like some please do get in touch soon.

Baby shower themed cupcakes also made an appearance. African inspired cupcakes with the animal print were fun to make and the little wrapped parcels were little individual  spiced chocolate mud cakes. A Christmas gift to my students who undertook a six week course. It was lovely to meet you you all and I really enjoyed my first foray into teaching. Hope you had fun too.

Have a great week will post some more pictures in a few days. Tammy x
